Remains

So now it seems faint words alone remain,

Like shallow graves one’s soul forgot,

While musing distant destiny.

The winds impart a dissonant refrain.

The moon bequeaths an empty spot.

Whose shadow trails where’re I be.

The unsought silence renders little gain.

Before they rise within my thought,

The music stops, the verses flee.

And stars which did once blazon my domain

Now linger low, where song cannot,

To stir dark dreams that sleep in me.
